the header

The header image was made by Masha.   She has the following to say about its provenance:

‘The knife itself is sold by a company called “Northern Lights,” would you believe it. The pattern on the haft is a Japanese manhole cover. The pattern in the middle, and the the back on the right is a William Morris print. The bubbles on the blade are  a close-up of dew on an insect. The background on the left is the saddle, trimmings and horse blanket of los boleadoras.’
